About Me:
Hi there! I’m Alissa Zorn.
I always wanted to be a mom and thought it would all come easily to me.
Maybe you can relate?
It wasn’t long after my first child was born that I found myself overwhelmed by emotions, exhaustion, and uncertainty. As I continued to sacrifice my own self-care for the needs of my growing family, I waded further into a pool of guilt, shame, and negative thoughts.
My children had needs I wasn’t sure how to meet. Tantrums continued even though I was using all the strategies the parenting gurus suggested. I didn’t feel like what I was doing was “working,” and I started feeling miserable, wondering if I was just a “bad mom.”
I realize now that nothing could be further from the truth.
Everything started to change when I opened myself up to the idea that I didn’t need to be perfect. I began to research, and implement a growth mindset for myself and my parenting and tried to model embracing imperfection for my kids.
By putting these mindset practices into place, I discovered I could enjoy parenting more and develop stronger bonds with my kids by shifting my thinking. I realized we’re always learning. There’s no shame in not knowing the answer yet, and the only thing you want to avoid is closing yourself off to growth.
It was out of this journey of self-discovery and growth that Bounceback Parenting was born.
If you’re willing to be curious, keep learning, and keep looking for joy and connection in the chaos, then you’re a Bounceback Parent too. I’m glad you’re here.
