Bunny for a Baby
I found a cute tutorial this morning which you may like if you have any baby or toddler on your gift list this year. We “adopted” a four month old girl to give a gift to at one of our local women’s shelters. The mom asked for clothing which we gave, but I wanted to include something handmade as well; every child should have something handmade with love to snuggle. This bunny was easy to make and I always like using recycled fabric. You can find the well written tutorial here: Mooshy Belly Bunny Tutorial . The pink striped bunny was made out of a knit shirt that’s been hanging out in a to-sew-with- basket for some time.
I also am almost finished with a blue striped bunny for my nephew. This one was a little different knit, more of a very small rib to it ( it was actually a maternity shirt from my first pregnancy, aww) and as you can see this bunny will be a bit wider. A bit silly looking, but still cute. Hee hee- looks like some stripey craft version of the staypufft marshmallow man, but I have faith that bunny ears and a cute face will change that.

My 3 1/2 year old has been hounding me ALL day that he wants a bunny (or a puppy or a kitty or a firetruck) now too, so I may have more softie making in my future- I haven’t completed the item I wanted to knit for him for Yule, so maybe a stuffed…something would be good instead.

That is sooooo cute! That is how I know I am not crafty. I wouldn’t even attempt something like that. haha! So adorable!
Thanks. I’m thinking about making a kitty one this year for my one year old. It was quick to sew.
