Creative Christmas Day 23 – Edible Ornaments
These are so pretty that they *almost* make me want to bake sugar cookies even though I am a die-hard chocolate chip fan, and you don’t even need a cookie cutter to make them.

At Life at the Zoo you can find both the recipe and some decorating hint for these bauble cookies. Click on the link above to see what’s baking over there today!
Baking With Kids Tip
When we do something that involves as much sugar and stickiness as cookie decorating I do it after lunch so I know my kids are not going to be starving. I bring out enough supplies so everyone has something they can use all at the same time. Tubes of frosting are easier than the homemade variety for us. I keep a couple damp rags at hand for everyone to wipe their hands on. Finally, the toddler requires an adult working with her, otherwise she’ll try to wander around the house with sticky icing hands.
I hope you’re finding the joy within the mayhem of this holiday season. Tomorrow is the last day of the countdown and will be presented here on Creative with Kids, and then I’m ready to take a week off to celebrate Christmas and New Years!
All my best, and be sure to take a look at my Creative Christmas Co-host, Red Ted Art and find all of her New Years Eve posts – she has activities from all over the world.

Last Christmas my best friend gave me a really nice wooden Christmas ornament. It had my name and a picture of us engraved on it, she got one too! It was super cool and I found out that this company out in Colorado called Unique Custom Products made it. I will definitely be ordering from them this year …check out their website if like wooden items @ http://www.custom-christmasornaments.com.
Good for all of you who found/made the time for the countdown!!! We all love the ideas! One thing we have not tried is edible ornaments….but that can change…and the good thing about using cookie dough that is not your fave is that they will decorate the tree the whole season and spare our hips the aftermath, right?
