Creative Christmas Day 7 – Make Twig Ornaments
How is December going for you so far? Somehow I don’t feel rushed as of yet, but I’ve talked to a lot of people who are feeling a bit overwhelmed with the holiday busy-ness. I hope in these kid activities that were sending, instead of thinking of it as one more to-do you can just pick ones that inspire you and use them as a way to always have an idea in your back pocket.
Today Kitchen Counter Chronicles teaches us how to make these twig ornaments. Sometimes the thing that makes everyone feel better is a little walk or a trip to the park. This will give you something to search for in the winter landscape.
Holiday Crafting Tip:
If I don’t plan ahead for crafts they just don’t happen. Our regular rhythm now includes doing an activity in the afternoon after lunch – it’s not always a craft, and it doesn’t take a very long time, but I try to do something each weekday to “hold” that space. It might just be reading a book, prepping dinner together or drawing together. Your schedule may be different – maybe choosing a time on the weekend would be better, or just one day in the week. Whenever you do it is fine, but making it regular will help your kids expect that it will happen and help you remember to plan ahead for it.
Red Ted Art will have tomorrow’s countdown post! Here is where I admit that part of what I love about Maggy’s blog is her UK lingo…makes my American sound so flat, hee hee. So – go to Red Ted Art for a brilliant Day 8 feature post.
