When I was a kid, every Fall I would go up to the Aspens with my grandparents. My favorite part of these picnics was walking with my grandmother. She and I would find the most beautiful leaf in the forest.
Finding the most beautiful one was a tall order while standing on a forest floor covered with golden leaves, but the way my grandmother reacted when I would show her my finds was enough to convince me that, indeed, I had found THE most stunning leaf there was to find in all of those leaves, and I could tell that I was bringing her a treasure, and that I delighted her with my amazing beautiful-leaf-finding skills. I felt so valued.
The kids and I had our own beautiful-leaf treasure hunt in the front yard the other day and we discovered an entire rainbow.
I wonder what colors of the rainbow your yard holds. I bet you have some talented treasure hunters who would be happy to help you find out.
This post is linked to the Outdoor Play link-up!
This is a great post. I can absolutely see your grandmother’s face as she admires your leaves. My kiddos would love finding all the different colored leaves. We have a leaf press that we are constantly collecting leaves for but we have never made them into a rainbow. Love that idea!
Thanks for sharing.
And thanks for linking up to the Outdoor play link up. I pinned your image as well, so if you are on pinterest be sure to check out the Outdoor Play Link Up board.
Wonder if we could still find a few colorful leaves yet? We’re past peak here but we might still be able to scrounge up some color.
Aww, beautiful rainbow of leaves! We’ll have to do this next time we’re one of our hikes 🙂 Thanx for sharing!
Wow, what a beautiful find! This post is so sweet and reminds of my own grandmother. Miss her. 🙂 Thanks for linking up with us at the Outdoor Play Party.
Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!
