I could lie.
I mean it looks like this was one fun activity, and…it was, basically. I think the boys had fun until, “GASP…Mama!!! It’s on my rainbow shirt!!!!” (said in an increasing shriek of horror.) And then there was the smell….
I can tolerate shaving cream smell when confined to small amounts, however, if you do NOT like the smell of shaving cream, do not let yourself be delusional enough to believe it will wash out of you children’s clothes, the bathtub, the floor, their very pores…
And something’s got to be said about the balloons. It seemed so cool to put shaving cream in a balloon and then let the boys pop it.
Uhhh, yeah… so pins become slippery and invisible once coated in shaving cream. Could have used a little more forethought on that idea.
Then the balloons that weren’t popped, of course, had to accompany the boys into the bathroom so they could continue to drip sneaky shaving cream blops through the house, making pungent little shaving cream fragrance bombs to find later.
So- we won’t be doing this one again!
You know, I love to click around on the web getting inspired for things to do with my kids, but some days…probably the days I’m feeling tired and overwhelmed to begin with, I just feel so inadequate looking at all those perfect little projects where everyone had a great time (!)
I know we all have our moments where that perfect plan goes awry. What have you done that just flopped?
ETA: I had put a linky on this, but I removed it after I realized that really, people don’t post about their flops too often, so no one has anything to link!
